Job Description: 
As a Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for managing the financial transactions of the law firm. Your duties will include processing client and office account payments, handling bank reconciliations, ensuring compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules, and assisting with the preparation of financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and process daily financial transactions including client and office account payments.

• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accurate record-keeping.

• Ensure compliance with Solicitors’ Accounts Rules and other relevant regulations.

• Assist in the preparation of monthly and annual financial reports.

• Handle VAT returns and other statutory obligations.

• Liaise with fee earners and support staff to resolve financial queries.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records.

The Person:

Ideally, candidates should have experience in the legal sector and be familiar with SRA Accounts Rules. However, we also welcome applicants with a robust financial background who are eager to adapt their skills from another industry.
Applicants should have proficiency in legal accounting software and case management systems. A solid financial understanding is essential, with experience in managing client accounts, billing, and reconciliation processes. Knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping is important.
A keen eye for detail and high accuracy in financial management are crucial for this role.
