Quartz Recruitment is dedicated to connecting talented professionals with exceptional employers. We are currently seeking a skilled and proactive Project Manager to join an exciting community ownership initiative.
Role Overview:
We are looking for someone with recent experience in managing community projects who can start immediately on a part-time, self-employed basis. This is initially a six-month contract for 22.5 hours per week, with the possibility of extension depending on project progress and the success of our upcoming community share issue.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with specialist advisers to understand the Business Plan and manage the forthcoming Community Share Offer.
- Work closely with the Board, funders, local authority, and key partners to ensure smooth operation.
- Partner with the Treasurer to plan and oversee finances.
- Lead the acquisition process of the building, including handling legal matters, contracts, consultants, insurance, and registrations.
- Supervise and support the Community Coordinator in building public awareness, organising events, and keeping the community informed.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and report to funders as needed.
- Adapt flexibly to meet the evolving needs of the project.
Preferred Experience and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated experience in managing community projects and working with multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with the local economy in North Devon and Torridge.
Compensation:
Fee level commensurate with experience.
