About the Role:
The Globe Hotel Torrington community benefit society is looking for a passionate and proactive Community Organiser to lead the exciting revitalisation of The Globe Hotel in Great Torrington. This is a unique opportunity to help start the journey, breathing new life into a historic Grade II Listed building and transforming it into a vibrant community-owned bar, restaurant and hotel.

Key Responsibilities:
• Engage the Community: Meet with residents, local groups, and stakeholders to promote the project’s vision and build enthusiasm 
        to get people involved through volunteering and investing.
• Administrative Support: Handle support letters, maintain a contact database, manage email and phone communications, and keep 
        accurate records.
• Financial Oversight: Perform basic bookkeeping and assist in managing project finances.
• Social Media Outreach: Promote the project and share updates through various social media channels.
• Event Planning: Organise community events and promotional activities to raise awareness and increase engagement.

What We’re Looking For:
• Strong Communicator: You excel in both verbal and written communication.
• Self-Motivated: Able to work independently and manage your own workload effectively.
• Basic Financial Skills: Comfortable with basic bookkeeping and financial administration.
• Social Media Know-How: Proficient in using social media platforms to engage and inform the community.
• Event Management: Experience in organising community events is a strong advantage.
• Flexible Schedule: Willingness to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

Additional Information:

This is a self-employed position, reporting to the Board of Directors. While you'll work primarily from home, you’ll also be involved in local events and meetings. All work-related expenses will be reimbursed, and you may be asked to take on additional tasks to help meet project goals.
